Pumpkin Sauce

This is a great staple sauce, perfect for pasta or even as a dipping sauce! 
Course Appetizer, Side Dish

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Farmer's Market Foods Organic Pumpkin
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1/2 chopped celery
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • grated nutmeg
  • fresh parsley and parmesan for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the onion, celery, and garlic in the butter over medium heat, stirring, until the onions are translucent. 
  • Add pumpkin, broth, cream, nutmeg, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes. 
  • Garnish with the parsley and parmesan, and serve over pasta.
